We Surveyed A Thousand Women About Their First Sex Toy: Here are the Surprising Results
We had a few questions about vibrators and American women, like:
Why do women first choose to get a sex toy? Is it something they buy for themselves or is it a gift? How old are they usually when they first try a sex toy? Why might they avoid using sex toys?
The Process
We surveyed 1003 women from places all over America:The Results
Interestingly, our data shows that inland women are not only more likely to own a sex toy, but also likely to buy their first one at a younger age than coastal-dwelling women. However, it might be that more sexually adventurous women in inland areas are more likely to answer a survey about their sex toy usage than women living on the coast.
If you're with a partner who you think might not understand why you're bringing a vibrator into the bedroom, or might be intimidated by it–check out our guide to Bringing a Vibrator into a Relationship.
Women who buy vibrators report no buyer's remorse, and most often wish they'd bought one sooner.
People, please, buy more vibrators as gifts for loved ones who have never used one before. It's hard to take the plunge into sex toys so help a friend out.
Women buy vibrators to spice up their sex lives, and based on how many of them wish they'd bought one sooner–we'd say they were satisfied with their decision.
There's a big shift in perceived most desired features in a vibrator between women who own a vibrator and women who never have: women who have owned a vibrator are far more likely to state that they'd look for a 'strong motor' when shopping for a new one.
How we can help
For those new to the world of sex toys and vibrators, our Limon is the ideal beginner’s vibrator. We might be biased, but we have some pretty solid ground to stand on here.
We created Limon to be as quiet as possible (rated even softer than falling rain!) with an approachable, cute lemon shape. It's simple to use–no buttons to fuss with, just squeeze and the Limon increases its intensity–the harder you squeeze, the more powerfully it vibrates for you.
Limon is made of 100% phthalate-free, body-safe medical-grade silicone. It’s ergonomic, with a tip that is denser than its body so it can focus on sensitive areas.
Our Limon is versatile and waterproof so you can use it in any position (back, side, belly) or in any setting (bed, bath, beyond)–making it ideal for anyone, regardless of their preference.
You'll feel deep and satisfying rumble-like vibrations while using it–unlike anything you've ever felt before. Limon even has the unique ability to allow you to 'record' and set a vibration pattern if you find a rhythm you're enjoying, and you'd like to go hands-free.
Conclusion
If you’re on the fence about owning a vibrator for the first-time, we hope to reassure you: get one. None of the women we talked to regretted owning a sex toy, in fact most women wished that they had owned one sooner.
